MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates has been awarded a CA$3 million (US$2.1 million) contract amendment for radar systems.

Under the contract with the Department of National Defense, the company will "provide upgrades to the ground systems supporting the radar surveillance systems developed by MDA and used on Canada's fleet of CP-140 Aurora aircraft," the company said.

The radar provides high-resolution imaging for detection of land and sea targets.
