Booz Allen Hamilton wins $24.2M Navy C4ISR contract

Looking like a real-world “Iron Man,” Bill Reason of Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Aircraft Division demonstrates the Industrial Human Augmentation System (iHAS) with help from Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division’s Jaime Mattern (blue shirt) at the NAVSEA Warfare Center Technology Day event May 11 in the Humphreys Atrium. The exoskeleton device enables industrial workers to hold and manipulate heavy hand-held tools with zero gravity, with the goal of reducing total ownership costs by increasing manufacturing output while decreasing the likelihood of stress-related injuries. NSWC Carderock is leading the iHAS development in collaboration with DOD, NAVSEA, NAWC Aircraft Division, National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP), Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Pearling Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. The iHAS was one of many Warfare Center-developed technologies on display in the NAVSEA Headquarters. (U.S. Navy photo/released)
