UK awards $23.2M radio contract to L-3

L-3 has been awarded a $23.2 million British Ministry of Defense contract for radio transceivers.

The contract is for Britain's Joint Common Remote Viewing Terminal. L-3 will provide its Tactical Network ROVER handheld transceivers and ROVER 6i transceivers, according to an L-3 news release.

The devices will be used to exchange ISR data, including full-motion video, over networks and across platforms.

"We have broad expertise in this interoperable, advanced communications technology, which will be a key component of the British Land Forces and Royal Navy's future communications programs," L-3 CEO Michael Strianese said.
