Harris Corp. has been awarded a $97 million Navy contract for jammers.
As part of the integrated defensive electronic countermeasures (IDECM) program, Harris will provide its ALQ-214 radio frequency integrated countermeasure system, which is already used by Navy F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets, according to a company news release.
"The ALQ-214 is one of the most capable airborne jamming systems ever built," said Ed Zoiss, president of Harris Electronic Systems. "In the complex, contested battlespaces our aviators face, it is a critical element of their ability to outpace evolving electronic threats and maintain a strategic edge."
