The global X-band radar market will reach $5 billion by 2020, according to a forecast by market research firm ASDReports. This reflects a 3.56 percent compound annual growth rate.

"The key challenge faced by the X-band radar market is that of stringent government regulations," the study said. "With an increase in the number of key manufacturers of X-band portable radars, and the growing demand for these radars for commercial purposes, the X-band frequency spectrum is getting congested. This factor results in the government agencies restraining from allocating this frequency range for commercial purposes."
North America will be the largest market, followed by Europe and a growing market in the Asia-Pacific region.
