Cobham has been awarded a $4.17 million Army contract to develop handheld mine detectors.

Under the three-year contract, Cobham will design "a highly specialized handheld technology demonstrator designed to offer the Army a potentially unique system with increased capability beyond what similar systems can provide today," according to a company news release.

The work will be performed at Cobham Antenna Systems' locations at Marlow and Leatherhead, England.
