RADA Electronics has been selected by the Israeli Ministry of Defense to provide tactical radar that will cover Israeli towns on the southern border.
The radar, part of Israel's national alert system, will detect rocket fire and unmanned aerial vehiclesUAVs fired from Gaza. RADA is also expanding its mission hemispheric radar (MHR) line to include more variants for air and surface surveillance, according to a company news release.
The radars will be capable of "detection — from significant ranges — of the commercial low, slow and small (LSS) aerial vehicles such as quadcopters, which are becoming a growing threat to strategic sites and commercial aviation," RADA said.
