ViaSat has been awarded a $13.7 million Defense Information Systems Agency contract for transceivers.
Under the noncompetitive sole-source contract, ViaSat will provide ground transceivers for the Blue Force Tracking 2 program, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. Blue Force Tracking 2 is an upgrade to the Army and Marine Corps Blue Force Tracking system, which assists with keeping track of the location of friendly troops.
The contract is scheduled for completion in April 2018.
