Harris awarded $1.7B radio contract for Afghanistan

Harris Corp. has been awarded a $1.7 billion foreign military sales contract to provide radios for Afghanistan.

Under the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, Harris will provide radios, ancillaries, spare parts and services, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

The contract is scheduled for completion in June 2021. It was awarded by Army Contracting Command.

More must be done to safeguard U.S. data and prevent dependence on geopolitical adversaries for a critical, emerging technology.
