Harris Corp. has successfully used its Falcon radios with the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) waveform.
“The calls validated the ability of the AN/PRC-117G, a fielded multiband manpack radio, to run the narrowband MUOS service with a software-only upgrade,” said a Harris news release.
Harris is developing the MUOS waveform to operate on multiple Harris platforms, including the AN/PRC-117G; the AN/VRC-118 two-channel, Mid-tier Networking Vehicular Radio; and the AN/PRC-158 multi-channel manpack radio.
