Northrop Grumman has been awarded a Danish contract for LITENING advanced targeting pods for Danish F-16s.
"Denmark was the first international partner to take delivery of the fourth generation of the LITENING pod," according to a Northrop Grumman news release. "With this award, the [Royal Danish Air Force] will expand the use of LITENING to additional aircraft in its fleet."
The fourth-generation LITENING pod includes digital, high-definition video, 1K forward-looking infrared and charge-coupled device sensors, laser imaging sensors, and advanced data links.
