French manufacturer Sagem has been awarded an order from a NATO nation for infrared binoculars.
Neither the buyer nor the contract amount was specified, but a Sagem news release said the order was for more than 200 JIM-LR long-range multifunction infrared binoculars. The order also includes remote-control terminals.
JIM-LR is a high-performance tactical electro-optical device, designed for surveillance, intelligence, zone protection and target designation missions. The device features day/night vision, rangefinding, laser pointer, magnetic compass, image and video recording, GPS and data transmission.
