Marines order ground robots

iRobot has been awarded a $9.8 million Marine Corps contract for ground robots.Under the contract,  iRobot will deliver 75 SUGVs [small unmanned ground vehicles], a man-portable derivative of the larger Packbot, with a manipulator arm for tasks such as explosive ordnance disposal, according to an iRobot news release.

Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of 2016.
