A version of General Atomics' Predator UAV, the "XP" model intended for export, has conducted a 40-hour test flight, reports Defense News.

The flight demonstrated the UAV's endurance; it maintained an altitude of 10,000 feet or higher for the duration of the flight, which spanned Feb. 6 to Feb. 8.

Derivative of the MQ-1, the XP is designed solely for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions and cannot be fitted with weapons. The company previously listed the XP's endurance at 35 hours.
