The Chilean Navy will be using UTC Aerospace System's Cloud Cap Technology TASE500 imaging systems.
The sensors will be placed on Vulcanair P68 Observer 2 aircraft operated by Italy's Vulcanair, which flies maritime search and rescue for the Chilean Navy. will use for maritime search and rescue operations.
"The TASE500 payload provides the first all-HD imaging solution giving operators improved situational awareness, an all-digital imaging chain for maximized processing capability and an optimized lens design for enhanced object recognition," said a UTC news release. "All TASE cameras offer a continuous zoom functionality which provides optimal field of view across all zoom levels."
The TASE500 provides day and night imaging.
