Lockheed Martin has been awarded an $85 million contract for Q-53 AN/TPQ-53 (Q-53) counterfire target acquisition radars.
Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will provide seven Q-53 systems, according to a company news release. Lockheed Martin will also upgrade 19 existing Q-53s.
Since 2007, Lockheed Martin has been awarded contracts for 97 radars, of which 55 have been delivered. The truck-mounted Q-53 provides 360-degree detection of enemy fire.
