Rockwell Collins has been awarded a contract for New Zealand military satellite communications (satcom).

The contract is for a Deployable Ku-Band Earth Terminal (DKET) satcom system, which will form part of the New Zealand Defense Force's Strategic Bearer Network Phase 1 program, according to a Rockwell Collins news release.

The contract follows a 2013 order for one DKET dual-antenna, deployable ground station.

"Integrated by Rockwell Collins in Australia, the DKET Earth Terminal enables the transmission of high-bandwidth data, such as voice, imagery and video, across long distances and rugged, remote environments," Rockwell Collins said.
