Saab has awarded British electronics manufacturer e2v a contract to provide power modules for military electronics.
The Military Power Modules (MPM) are "compact, lightweight transmitters for use in airborne military applications," according to an e2v news release. "Each MPM system is comprised of a helix travelling-wave tube (TWT), an electronic power conditioner (EPC) and a solid state amplifier (SSA) in a single package."
The MPMs can deliver medium output power up to Ku-band, and can operate in both pulsed and continuous-wave mode.
