General Dynamics wins Navy surface ship EW contract

General Dynamics Mission Systems has been awarded a Navy contract to produce surface ship electronic warfare systems.

The five-year contract is for the Navy's Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 1B3, according to a General Dynamics news release. The value of the contract was not specified.

SEWIP Block 1 upgrades electronic warfare capabilities in anti-ship missile defense, counter targeting and surveillance. The Block 1B3 system is the final Block 1 upgrade.
