ViaSat has unveiled what it describes as the broadband industry's first single-port 100 Gbps encryption device designed to scale in bandwidth from 10 to 40 to 100 gigabytes per second.
It is the "only available solution today that can transmit encrypted data at 100 Gbps across the U.S.," according to a ViaSat news release.
The technology applies to various ViaSat Ethernet encryption devices, including the SEC-1170 and its variants. Advantages include scalable bandwidth and low latency.
"Our first-to-market high-speed encryption device gives organizations that transmit sensitive intellectual property and business-critical data between sites, a proven encryption technology that is both fast and leverages the latest networking and security features to ensure data in transit will not be intercepted or exploited," said ViaSat chief operating officer Jerry Goodwin.
