Estonian company Milrem has unveiled what it calls the world's first modular hybrid unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).

The THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System), which debuted at this year's Singapore Air Show, "is a highly modular platform that allows different superstructures to be mounted and integrated onto the middle vehicular platform for complex missions such as rescue, transport, reconnaissance," according to a Milrem news release. "The flexibility and versatile nature of the system not only increases efficiency, it also significantly reduces the life cycle costs of these complex unmanned systems with simplified maintenance and spare supplies."

The Themis ADDER variant is equipped with a remote weapons station. The UGV will be ready for production by the end of 2016.
