Insitu has been awarded a $70.9 million delivery order for ScanEagle unmanned aircraft systemsUAVs for Afghanistan.

Insitu will provide eight ScanEagle systems, which include with a total of 65 air vehicles, spares, support equipment UAVs plus ground equipment and an in-theater ground training facility, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. The sale was awarded under the Foreign Military Sales program.

The contract specifies that 80 percent of the work will be performed at Insitu's site in Bingen, Washington, with the remainder in Afghanistan.
