QinetiQ North America has been awarded a contract to upgrade the Army's TALON IV robots.

QinetiQ said the contract, valued at more than $17.5 million, will cover upgrades and spare parts. The nature of the upgrades was not specified.

QinetiQ has also won a Navy contract for TALON MTRS Mark 2 robots. The three-year indefinite duration, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract is valued at up to $30 million, according to a company announcement. The contract, through the Naval Surface Warfare Center's Man Transportable Robotic System (MTRS) program, will cover new robot, upgrades and spare parts for Navy explosive ordnance disposal.
