Taiwan's military displayed its unmanned capabilities this week.

Several UAVs were unveiled by the Chungshan Institute of Science & Technology, according to the Taipei Times. They included a battery-powered, hand-launched 11-pound drone named Cardinal, which has an endurance of five miles and one hour. Equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors, the Cardinal lands by parachute.

A larger UAV, the Albatross, weighs 700 pounds, has a 9-yard wingspan, and an endurance of 10 hours and a hundred miles.

The Taipei Times noted that officials refused to answer whether the UAVs could be armed.
