Northrop Grumman has successfully demonstrated a multi-function electronics suite for the Office of Naval Research (ONR)'s Integrated Topside (InTop) program.

InTop is a scalable suite of open architecture electronic warfare, information operations and line-of-sight communications hardware and software intended to replace the forest of topside antennas found on modern ships. The system replaces the antennas with advanced electronically scanned array (AESA) systems.

The demonstration was for ONR's InTop Advance Development Model (ADM), which will resolve electromagnetic interference issues as well as size, weight and power concerns. "In the demonstrations, conducted in October and November at the Naval Research Labs Chesapeake Bay Detachment facility, electronic warfare, information operations, and communications missions were conducted simultaneously," said a Northrop Grumman news release.
