Raytheon has been awarded a $79.7 million contract to support telemetry data collection, range safety and surveillance, and communications relay on the Navy’s new range support platform, an airborne early warning version of the Gulfstream G550 business jet.

Under the contract, Raytheon will provide development, fabrication and integration of the commercial aircraft-based instrumentation telemetry system and the airborne command transmitter system, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

Raytheon’s system will collect and process telemetry data from missiles, aircraft, UAVs and ships. The contract is scheduled to be completed by February 2022. The contract was awarded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, Calif.
