The Army Private Cloud Enterprise

represents the first time the Army has contracted with a private company to run a large-scale data center inside the gates of a military installation. It is an integral move in the Defense Department-wide effort to consolidate hundreds of data centers and will serve as a model going forward. The Redstone Arsenal pilot will leverage an on-premises, commercially owned, commercially operated cloud model and will last about three years, during which the Army will share lessons learned across DoD.
