ViaSat has been awarded a contract to provide cybersecurity for wearable network platforms.

ViaSat did not specify the value of the contract or who awarded it. It did say that its ViaSat Mobile Dynamic Defense cybersecurity software will protect Tactical Local Area Network Field Computing Device - Wearable (TACLAN FCD-W) platforms.

“Using the information assurance (IA) ‘Defense in Depth’ model where multiple layers of security controls and countermeasures are woven together, the ViaSat MDD platform ensures sensitive information hosted on the End User Device (EUD) is continually checked and protected from compromise — even if the EUD is disconnected from infrastructure, or the EUD remote management system,” said a company news release.

ViaSat will team with system integrator iGov on the contract.
