Jeppesen Sanderson has been awarded a $13.8 million Navy contract for software for the P-8A Poseidon.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, Jeppesen will provide performance planning software tools for U.S., U.K., Norway and New Zealand Poseidons, according to the U.S. Department of Defense contract announcement.

"The software tools include MilPlanner, FliteDeck Pro, On-Board Performance Tool (OPT) database and OPT software, and provides an accurate, portable and error tolerant electronic means of calculating aircraft performance," the DoD said. "Additionally, the NAV Database tool is required by the P-8A to provide aeronautical radio incorporated (ARINC)-424 navigational data."


The work is scheduled to be completed by May 2022.
