Raytheon has been awarded a $1.1 billion contract to build an early warning radar system for Qatar.

Under the contract, Raytheon "will provide an early warning radar system that will be integrated into the Qatar integrated air and missile defense enterprise," according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

The work, which falls under the Foreign Military Sales program, is scheduled to be completed by June 2021.

The contract was awarded by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts.
