L3 has been chosen by Airbus to provide sensors for H225M helicopters.

Under the contract, for which L3 did not specify the value, Airbus will receive 37 MX-15 electro-optical and infrared imaging systems. The sensors will be installed in France on H225Ms before being delivered to two undisclosed foreign nations.

“The first delivery of 19 units will support a variety of missions, including search and rescue, aeromedical evacuation and assistance, and disaster relief,” according to an L3 news release. “The second delivery will provide a highly detailed, multispectral view of combat search and rescue, naval operations, medical evacuation and military transportation efforts to mission operators.”

The MX-15 is also fitted to other Airbus helicopters, including the H125 and UH-72A.
